"I finally got the opportunity to take WxWorx tuna fishing off the NJ coast. Overnight, 85Nm miles offshore we watched a cold front approach the NJ coast and mostly dissipate, we could easily see that none of the precipitation (or winds) would threaten us. We could see the coastal winds at 15-20Kts while we enjoyed winds around 5-6Kts and the buoy information gave me the confidence that it would not change much while we were offshore. At this point I'm beginning to almost take this information for granted, while the other crewmembers experienced it for the first time. Their reaction was almost disbelief, as I just smiled. At 11:30PM with 8 Yellowfins, 2 Longfins, and 2 Mahi (500+lbs) onboard we headed home with the knowledge that the en route weather was just as good as the offshore weather and the coastal winds were subsiding.
