Strictly Sail Pacific will be held at Jack London Square, Oakland, CA from April 15 – 18, 2010. The show will return to its former exclusive sail-only format and will feature an enhanced layout, more convenient parking, indoor seminars, and numerous attractions and special features.

“We all agree that sailing needs a strong presence on the west coast and we have renewed our commitment to producing the best possible show for our exhibitors and attendees alike,” said Jonathan Banks, Executive Director, Sail America, the show producer.

As a result of exhibitor and attendee feedback, there will be an improved four-day format to help reduce overall costs. Other key changes include the shift to an all-sail format, along with plans for a VIP Preview Night for all in-water exhibitors on the evening prior to the opening of the show.

New for 2010 will be the addition of good condition, previously-used boats in the in-water section of the show. This expansion will enhance the show and provide attendees with a wider selection of boats to view and more reasons to visit the show. The small boat section will also be expanded to include a wide selection of affordable dinghies, trailerable boats and one-design classes.

A redesigned floorplan will improve traffic flow and maximize exhibitor exposure. In addition, the move to air conditioned, indoor facilities for the extensive seminar program is expected to be a big hit with show-goers and presenters alike. A full slate of special event activities, including the popular Latitudes & Attitudes Cruisers’ Bash, is currently being planned by the local show committee.

“The April Strictly Sail Pacific is just the stimulus package needed for the west coast sailing business,” said John Arndt, associate publisher, Latitude 38. “The construction at Jack London Square is completed including a very convenient new parking garage directly across from the main exhibitor tent which will offer easier access. It’s a terrific venue with improved facilities offering lots of upsides for 2010. We’re looking forward to a great event.”
